We will return to the lawn under the catalpa tree for worship with Rev. Tom Carney.  In the final segment of "Ways We Encounter God", this week we examine the idea of God as Spirit: Holy Spirit.  We consider Jesus still empowering us as Spirit even though he is now both crucified and risen.  We will have special music from Amy Gildemeister and Margaret Law with Lenna Andrews on 'cello. Abide these three- Faith, Hope and Love. Rev. Tom will give a message this week on the first of these three, Faith.  One of the definitions of "abide" is continue without fading.  Paul writes that our faith abides: it lives today and tomorrow.  It strengthens us and strengthens others both today and tomorrow and forever.   This week we will gather around the communion table for a shared sacred meal.  We will be worshipping inside.   An all mens small ensemble will be providing our special music.Our scripture readings this week are Genesis 15:1-6 and Matthew 9:18-26.
